Is the Iraq war worth the price?

A new book by economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Linda J. Bilmes suggests that the U.S. economic downturn and the costs of the Iraq war go hand-in-hand, and that the war could end up costing the U.S. $3 trillion -- more than any other war except World War II.

Do you think the war has hurt the economy? Is $3 trillion a fair estimate of the total cost? President Bush blames domestic factors in the economic downturn: Do you think he's right? How should our leaders handle war planning and economic revitalization?
