Chad Stephens

This is a well written life line of this great soldier. Thank you for everything you did and have done for us to protect our country. I hope with the good Lord's help your life will get easier. I can't imagine what you are going through but I know it is not good. Take one day at the time and may God give you some peace of mind. Take care my soldier friend and my prayers will be with you.

Chad Stephens story

Nothing more could be said than "oh my God" literally. You know war is bad and you know soldiers and Marines are dying everyday...but you don't know how. I can't imagine the pain Chad Stephens is going through. My prayers and heart goes out to him, his wife and those he led and the families of those who did not return.

I just pray this war ends soon.

Thank you for posting this story...as hard as it was to read and take in, it needs to be told.

There is a great website to support the troops funded by Xerox..www.letssaythanks.com.

Well Done

I really enjoyed this story and the accompanying picture and video. It was really well done and showed the bravery, courage, and sacrifices of members of our North Carolina Guard. The story also shows how wars don't necessarily end when the soldiers come home and that we as a society need to make sure these returning troops have everything they need. It also makes me pray even harder for my cousin Dennis during his service in Iraq.

Excellent job by the N&O.

I hope that SFC Chad

I hope that SFC Chad Stephens continues to get help mentally and spiritually.  Warriors understand the promise to bring them back alive.  As long as we preserve the memories of the dedication, courage, and can-do spirit of our soldiers, their spirit will never die.

Long live the spirit of the Old Hickory!

Success is not an Accident... Prepare Yourself!!!

Chad Stephens story

This is the most heartfelt and heartwrenching story I have ever read. Until we have walked a mile in their shoes, we have no idea what this war is doing, both physically and mentally. We can surmise but we just don't know! I will lift you up every day and thank God for what you are doing for me, so that I may have the freedom to pray. Hold fast to your faith, SFC Stephens!

Thank you Chad

I'm Danny's cousin.I had no idea how much pain Chad has been in all these years. I just wanted to tell Chad THANK YOU. Thank you for all the the men you did bring home. Im sure their families dont call you every day to thank you, but Im sure your always in their thoughts. No one is to blame for Danny's death. Danny knew this was a price he faced. He truly died doing what he loved most defending his country.

You will over come Chad

I known SFC Stephens for long time and for onething I can say about him he dose take care of his troops. His troops comes before him. For what he did in Iraq was the call above and beyond duty for his troops. I fought two wars and I know what he's going through. Chad you are strong a strong person and I know you will over come this. You have friends that will help you through this hard times.

Always there

Chad
Great article. It hits home in alot of ways. There are few that will never completely understand what a veteran goes through. As you know from working with me full time for the last 5 years I'm just a call away. I may have been transferred but my heart is always with my fellow brothern from A Co......especially those that I fought next too.

Articles like this no matter how much they may hurt HONOR our fallen. We need to keep spreading the word. RIP SPC Desens and CPT Cash!

SFC CHAD STEPHENS

Great articles. It brought back memories from the period of time when we were deployed in Iraq. I pray that you are seeking help from the VA.dept. I miss hanging out with you all. Hang in there I am still praying for the soldiers and their families. If anyone needs my support I am still available to help. Keep your head up and continue to do a great job like I know you can. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!

I agree the the SSG, get professional help (VA) for combat stress. I hear a lot of guilt, anger and resentments, along with other emotions coming from your experience's. Stop beating yourself up. Though it is understandable why you suffer so much. But it doesn't help you in the long run, but will take away everything you hold dear & true about others & YOURSELF. You gave your all and should stand proud. Please don't let your lost's stop your loving & compassionate self to be free & having love & compassion to enter your life.
