The next bimonthly meeting of the Triangle Dowsers Chapter will be held Sunday afternoon
May 18, 2008 at 1:30pm. We are moving the meeting back one week because Mother's Day
is May 11, which is our regular meeting date.
The meeting will be held at member Jeff Pinto's house at 2201 Lineberry Dr., Raleigh, N.C.
Directions to Jeff's house: From either direction on the I-40/440 beltline, get off at exit 297, which is Lake wheeler rd., go south 1/4 mile to Sierra dr. and turn right, go the end of Sierra dr. to stop sign and turn left on Lineberry dr. Go to third mailbox on left, 2201 Lineberry dr. and turn left into gravel driveway, Then turn right at the first drive. Note: you cannot see Jeff's house from street. Wake Tech Celebrates Black History Month
RALEIGH, N.C. - Dr. Stephen Scott, president of Wake Technical Community College, has announced a series of events to commemorate Black History Month.
On Thursday, February 14th, Dr. Willie Gilchrist, Chancellor of Elizabeth City State University, will speak at the college’s Main Campus. Gilchrist is a former member of the UNC Board of Governors and has an extensive background as an educator. Tickets are on sale for one of Wake Tech’s most popular events, an Evening of Jazz and Dinner. It takes place on Friday night, February 15th. Entertainment for the event will feature the music of Chapter Six and Stanley Baird. Last year more than 300 people attended. Finally, North Carolina actor Mike Wiley will perform at Wake Tech’s Northern Wake Campus on Tuesday, February 26th. Wiley has more than ten years of experience in theatre and seeks to expand cultural awareness through his dynamic portrayals of pivotal moments in African-American history.
St. Thomas More Academy, Cardinal Gibbons, Raleigh Diocese's seminarians will battle in annual “Men in Black” basketball competition to encourage young men to consider a priestly vocation. His Excellency Bishop Michael F. Burbidge will referee. Last year's game drew a crowd of 600. At half-time, the seminarians will briefly address the vocation to the priesthood. After the game, there will be a Rosary and a time for the audience to meet Bishop Burbidge, Fr. Shlesinger – the diocesan vocations director, and other priests.
