One of my better snaps of a fountain at City Plaza that has motion sensors to set off the water displays as the lights change colours, and also there is an automatic mode too. I thought it was cool.

During this time and also as we were enjoying doughnuts at a nearby table we were treated to the extraordinary acoustics from a busker who had setup to play solo oboe under the coloured lights and the stars above. This man was absolutely in the zone! No doubt, he collected tips.

Transluscent blue water fills this pond near where an old copper mine was located in Orange County south of Hillsborough about a century ago. I envision potentials here that I find to be most interesting!

The Man

While on a quest for some Krispy Kreme doughnuts during a recent adventure at City Plaza on a Sunday evening, upon arriving we noticed the lights inside the lobby of Krispy Kreme were out although there were people inside apparently having a company meeting, little did we know at the time. Our first thoughts were... oh bummer!

So turning back in the direction from which we had just come, we headed back up Fayetteville Street but not without stopping long enough to snap a number random photos of miscellaneous lit objects while still at City Plaza.

Then came 'The Man' - the poor fellow was out of cash and had run out of gas and had also spent the last hour or so trying to scrape up a few bucks (only managed $5.65 at that point) for gas to get back to Fayetteville. I offered him $5 to add to what he had already collected and he offered to pose for a photograph though I was using no flash at the time. So I snapped a photo and said that it looked kinda grainy. His response was "Well, I'm a grainy kind of fellow." He then thanked and blessed me and was on his way - little did he know, in delaying our departure how he really did bless me! For low and behold only moments later the lights inside the lobby at Krispy Kreme came back on *insert hallelujah chorus* as they were once again open for business!

We were lucky to see this glacier during our September 2009 Alaskan Cruise through the Inside Passage in Alaska. The cruise boat stopped in front of the most surreal, crystal-like glacier. We were fortunate to see the ice calving (breaking from the glacier) into the water. These glaciers are about 350 feet above water and about 300-400 deep below the water. The blue was incredible and was one of the most incredible things i have seen during my lifetime.
