In search of the 'perfect' president

|

For 219 years, the U.S. presidency has become burdened with legend, and the expectations exceed the grasp of any mortal. Americans’ notions of the presidency come from cultural cues we’ve been conditioned to notice — from the traits of past presidents, from novels and TV and movies and spin artists who predate the telegraph and the photograph. And from ourselves.

In your view, what makes an ideal president? Which president(s), past or present, come closest to your ideal?

Just my *opinions* only...

An ideal president would be one who came from outside the huge political machine which now exists in our country, one who is very wise and yet level-headed, and can quickly grasp the many situations at hand. One who will stand up for truth and beyond declaring it, be proactive about it no matter where the public ratings will place this ideal president.

As for the perceived best presidents of the past, these are the ones who happened to have history written in their favor.

a great leader was Jimmy

a great leader was Jimmy Carter. He seeked peace but was willing to stand up for human rights and go to war as a last resort. He was honest (maybe too much) and one could depend on what he said. He showed no hidden agenda.
