For Blogs and Website Articles – It’s All About Making Your Copy Easy

Have you ever found a title for a blog intriguing and began reading the post only to find it was longer than a “War and Peace” novel, and worse yet, the text all just ran together. Captivating headlines, readability and correct use of bullets and white space are all important aspects to making a post or website artilce easy to read and attractive to your audience. In addition, blogs and website articles should be written to be attractive to search engines too! Below are some timely tips to help make your articles and blog easier to find by Google and reader friendly for your site visitors too!

Helping Search Engines and Site Visitors Find and Read Your Blog site or Website!

When writing your own copy it is recommended you implement these technologies and strategies for enhanced organic blog and website optimization and ease of readability:

  • Use the WordTracker tool to target and identify key word phrases for your audience
  • Use the Overture tool to double check recently searched terms and integrate these into the copy
  • Use Quintura to determine the most searched relational key word phrases. Quintura uses the latest LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) technology.
  • Identify your target market and usecompelling copy to emotionally connect with that target to insure you speak to the target's "wants, needs and fears"
  • Use sound writing structure which includes the proper use of Headlines (H3 tags), and subhead lines
  • Insure the copy/articles are "scannable" and reader-friendly by integrating bullets and brief paragraphs
  • Insure the copy is the proper length to prevent endless page scroll
  • Insure the article/post concludes with a strong call-to-action instead of a "dead-end page"
  • Proper use of images to create white space to allow the site visitor's eyes to "rest"
  • Use a smart anchor text linking strategy to intertwine articles within the website or blog

As staff writer for Dakno Marketing, we implement these strategies when writing compelling copy for our clients.
Do You Have a Blueprint?

Not to get the cart before the horse, but before an ounce of copy is written, the site map must be developed and finalized. The site map will identify what articles will be included in the website. Remember, much like an architect uses a blue print to build a house - you must have a blue print (site map) to build your website so it meets your mission for the site/blog. If you have questions about integrating good copy in your website or blog, leave a comment or send me an email with your questions or ideas.

To Your Success!

Great Tips!

Hi Bobby,
I have to agree with your comments above. I have been reading a lot about how to get blogs/websites ranked these days and much of what you indicated is top of the list. Sometimes these things take time - Like coming up with a good "Call to Action" campaign. However much of what you have here is an easy fix, such as proper length of copy and making an effort to emotionally connect with your audiance. I have to admit I am not up with the three sites you recommended; wordtracker, overture tool and quintura - but I will take a look at these and let you know what I think! I will aslo keep an eye on your blog here, as I can tell there will be more good tips to come.

Thanks! Jill Fuhrer

My LehighValleyHomes Friend!

Bobby Carroll VP Dakno Marketing http://www.dakno.com/ Hi Jill, When using tools like Quintura, Wordtracker and Overture, don't forget to speak to the emotional issues associated with a real estate transaction. You're not just selling brick, mortar and sheet rock. You're selling peoples memories that are attached to those homes. Homes are the sanctuary where lifelong memories are made....Johnny took his first steps or Salley left home for college. Of course you will need to address your area's unique vibe and qualities because you are informing people to all the value and benefit to living in and around Nazareth. You're a pro and a natural, so it will be easy for you!
