Favorite movie this summer?

It's been a busy summer for movie fans. Which one have you liked the most? Which one was the biggest disappointment?

Tell us why (the more specific and detailed, the better). We'll be pulling together some of your thoughts for a future edition of the What's Up section.

Thanks.

"No Reservations"

I've seen only a few movies this summer, but with the likes of "Transformers" and "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" in the theaters, the pickings have been rather slim.  However, "No Reservations" took me by surprise with its depth of feeling, superb performances, and subtle script.  What could have been a cutesy man/boy-thaws-perfectionist-ice-princess-with-aid-of-precocious-child tale instead is a sweet, sometimes sad, and frequently quite funny account of how three very disparate people become a family.  Catherine Zeta-Jones gives a quietly understated yet very nuanced performance, Abigail Breslin demonstrates her range in a role completely different from her squeaky, pageant-winner wannabe in "Little Miss Sunshine," and Aaron Eckhart provides an object lesson in how a man can effortlessly charm a resistant female.  I have seen "No Reservations" described as a good "date movie" or "chick flick," but these days those terms usually signify to me that the film in question has a well constructed plot, three-dimensional characters, a literate screenplay, and no car chases or fart jokes.  Thankfully, "No Reservations" met those expectations in spades.
