The Skating Club of North Carolina, Inc. is a non-profit member of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) whose mission is to promote the sport of amateur figure skating by providing opportunities to participate in skating events such as exhibitions and ice shows, and to demonstrate personal skill development through USFSA test and competition structures in an environment of support and sportsmanship. The club is open to all members of the community.
Our membership is comprised of children, teens, and adults. Being an advanced figure skater is by no means a requirement. Members of the Skating Club of North Carolina (SCNC) are also members of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA), an organization of over 45,000 amateur figure skaters. Membership in the club is required to skate at any club session, take USFSA tests, and participate in club shows and competitions. Each membership receives Skating magazine monthly, the official publication of the USFSA. Membership in the Skating Club of North Carolina is for one membership year, beginning July 1st and ending June 30th of the following year. This is concurrent with the USFSA membership year. All existing memberships must be renewed by June 30th.
