TAPS - The Triangle's Pipe Club

TAPS meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Duffy's Restaurant and Tavern, 8021 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh NC.  Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. but many members arrive early to renew acquaintances, compare pipe collections, and just relax.  Featured are pipe selling and trading, tobacco sampling, raffles, occasional guest speakers, along with great food & drink.  Pipe smoking guests are welcome.  For more TAPS information call (919) 848-0685 or email pipechief@nc.rr.com.
TAPS was founded in 1997 by two local pipe collectors that met at the CORPS pipe show in Richmond VA; we currently have over 50 members.  Although most members live in and around Raleigh (part of the "Triangle Area"), we also have members living in other NC locations as well as out of state.  In addition to a great "boys (and girls) night out" at our monthly meetings, TAPS sponsors an annual pipe show (usually in April) at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.  TAPS promotes the gentle art of pipe smoking within the community and has obtained member discounts at many tobacconists.
Although we are a non-profit social club, TAPS is proud to have been able to make significant contributions to many charities in their time of need.

My grandpa used to smoke a pipe and I remember looking at him and feeling his superiority because of that wooden thing. I'm a cigar enthusiast but I admit I have been tempted to try the pipe. Perhaps I'll do it someday...
