The enormous eagle nest is located in a 90 foot loblolly pine between the Mattson Garden and Renaissance Court. The birds’ home is between 600 and 800 pounds and about 8 feet in diameter.
The youngsters will likely attempt their first flight around Memorial Day.

The babies are hopping around in the nest and trying out their wings. To see pictures of the eagles from the beginning of nesting season, navigate to the lower right hand column of that section and click on "About Eagle Cam" then click on "Eagle Cam Image Archive". The babies were so cute when they were little grey fuzz balls.

This year's egg hatched on April 27. The nest is deep however, you can get a glimpse of the baby's head bobbing back and forth as the mother and father feed it. After about 6 weeks the baby will be eating on his own.
It's quite interesting to watch.
