Sure our "leaders" will keepo us safe, just like they kept 3 Mile Island safe. Today millions of Americans continue to consume Hersheys Chocolate, produced right next to the old 3 Mile island site. New York City could have beenrendered uninhabitable for thousands of years if the nuclear geniuses ever got their ducks in a row. by all means extend the deal.

Of COURSE the licence for the Harris plant needs to be extended, and we need to encourage CP&L to go ahead and build a second reactor at that site.
We need the energy, nuclear power is far better for the environment than coal or gas power, and the site can certianly support it, it was designed for FOUR reactors.

we NEED cheap electricity !!
with gas going thru the roof, we NEED that plant..... besides, i'm perfectly sure there is a superb evacuation plan in place which would ensure that EVERYONE would be able to get out of the area should something happen......i mean, our elected officials would never put us at risk..! right?
