We have so many great opportunities for you to support the SPCA and the animals.  Our volunteer activities are great for adults and adult/youth teams who are willing to help us care for and clean up after the animals.  You can see more information on our volunteer program at http://www.spcawake.org/volunteers.html. The minimum age for volunteering at the Adoption Center is 18 years (we do have parent/youth teams, more information is below).  The minimum time commitment we ask for is 25 hours (annually) to include the 2.5 hours of orientation and additional 1 to 4 hours of training for chosen tasks. We have alternative options for youths who need to fulfill school community service requirements of less than 25 hours.  Please contact Jan Hill at jhill@spcawake.org for additional information.  If volunteering is right for you, the first step to becoming an SPCA volunteer is to attend an orientation (2.5 hours) that will include an overview of the SPCA as an organization and the new adoption facility, a review of the volunteering opportunities, and information on the schedule for volunteering task and times. We encourage you to visit the Adoption Center before attending an orientation, directions can be found at http://www.spcawake.org/directions.html#new.
