Should Duke's Henderson have been ejected and suspended?

The correct decision was made.  There is no doubt that Gerald Henderson’s actions met all the requirements of the NCAA flagrant file rule.  While Coach K’s attempts to divert everyone’s attention from Mr. Henderson’s blatant conduct by saying things like, “it was not intentional” & “Tyler should not have been in the game at this point”, I truly believe that the proof is in the interview Gerald Henderson gave on TV immediately after the game.  During his dialogue with the interviewer, Gerald could not look the interviewer in the eye nor could he face the camera when trying to tell the sports’ world that he did not deliver a cheap shot to Tyler Hansbrough.  The truth is …. a guilty conscious needs no accuser.

Should Duke's Henderson have been ejected and suspended?

yes ..i think Henderson should have been suspended for more than just one game ... I think he should have at least been suspended for the ACC tournaments. I think it was intentional and even if it wasn't, he still took a valuable player out of the rest of the game for the tarheels, and Hansbrough may not be able to play his best for the first ACC game the tarheels play because of the injury. Something more should have been done to Henderson for the actions he acted at the end of the Carolina vs. Duke game. Although im a Tarheel fan, i try to see the position the Duke fans are in. If this was to happen to a Tarheel player, The call would have been more then just a suspention from one game. I believe the call was made in favor of Duke.

Injustice on Gerald Henderson

I have been watching basketball since the early 1960's.  I have never heard of a "combative" foul.  The only rule that allows him to be suspended for the next game is if he threw a punch or tried to start a fight.  He did neither.  A hard foul?  Yes.  Intentional?  No Way.  Even Michael Jordan could not pull off what Gerald was accused of doing.  Does anyone really think that a person can go into a very fluid play and intentionally hurt someone while coming down?  If a player is going to commit a dirty foul, it is usually on the ground and in the lane .... a push or an elbow to the ribs.  By the way, get the facts straight, it was not his elbow that hit Tyler .... it was his forearm.

I have not heard any pundit talk about why he was ejected for the next game.  How many times have we seen a defender "tackle" a player going for a lay up .... a far more dangerous play.  The are never ejected.  This call was made to satisfy a naturally upset set of fans.  Even though I am a Duke fan, I understand the emotions the fans were displaying in the Dean Dome.
