Should Duke player Gerald Henderson have been ejected, and suspended for an ACC Tournament game, for his foul against UNC's Tyler Hansbrough?
I just hope, after seeing NO TEAMMATES come to his defense, that the ONLY PLAYER who is indespensible on this team will forgive the rest of the pampered pansies while they go and get pedicures and read Women's Day at the salon. Marcus Ginyard....if I could say one thing to you its SHUT UP about this teams toughness, because if you had any spine, you would have driven Henderson into the seats, with both hands around his neck and taken up for the STAR and GLUE of your team. WE CAN AFFORD TO LOSE YOU AND ANY OF YOUR TEAMMATES FOR ONE GAME, except Tyler. If there's no toughness on this team, you dont need to be the one questioning it, just shut up and go get your little pinkies polished.
You looking to see an NBA-style brawl?
Calm down, son. The Heels have given us plenty of occasions to question their toughness, but a failure to brawl on Sunday was certainly not one of them. They did EXACTLY what professional athletes are supposed to do - and they're not even professionals. They reacted with composure and class, just as they should have.
You're an idiot. We should all be thankful that this didn't escalate, which is all too likely in today's sports world. And, the whole homophobic/sexist rant juxtaposing toughness with a salon and women's magazine is ridiculous. I hope you're not a dad. We'll be reading about you in the paper soon for fighting with parents and kids at a peewee football game - at least this is what your ALL CAPS rage and combative comment indicates.
So Dooks tough because they sucker punch people in the face? It's just a classic remark from a Dookie sore loser.
Gerald's a good baller but he has no class, just like Coach K...It looks like UNC got the best of the two recruits again....remember when Tyler and McRoberts were so closely ranked out of HS? At the time, some said McRob was going to be better....how did that one turn out for ya?
McRob has played his way out of the NBA's first round...K does a good job of hidding his weaknesses but the more he plays in big games, the more he gets exposed as the fraud he really is.
Ask around buddy....Duke just doesn't have that same luster anymore.
I totally agree. I didn,t see a single Tar Heel Player taking up for Tyler. I can remember when Larry Brown was grabbed around the neck at Duke in the 60's, and Doug Moe was out there fighting any Dookie who got near him.
Give me a break! T-Rex chucked a forearm into a Duke player several minutes earlier knocking him to the floor. There have been several cases of extremely rough play this season. Welome to the newly expanded ACC and "thug-ball", formerly the province of the SEC. Where was the outrage when Gavin Grant and Dennis Horner took it to the snout?!
hornthal hit it on the nose (no pun intended). Henderson plays like his daddy, just very intense. I thought it was too much in your face by the Heels. Slam dunk with 14 seconds left in the game and a double digit lead? Come on, Roy. Showed very little class. Sidney would have ordered a mid-court dribble for 14 seconds. By the way, the Wolfpack came out the big winner on that exchange. One less Dookie off the bench to choose from and certainly none as intense as Henderson. GO PACK!!!
It was a free throw attempt. Dribbling at mid-court would have been strange.
Maybe we were watching two different games. I thought Hansbrough was attempting to put a rebound back in to pad an already double digit lead. Or maybe the free throw line was moved in fifteen feet on the light blue end. Can anyone else follow my logic? The outlet pass is as legal on the offensive end as it is on the defensive end.
Henderson suspension
By rule , he had to be ejected and suspension is automatic. I don't think it was intentional but was definitely "combative" The refs got this one right. The fans will make more of this than the players.
