Gov. Sarah Palin stunned Alaska and the nation last week by abruptly announcing her resignation from office. Palin will be governor only until July 26, when Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will take over.
Why do you think she quit? Is she getting ready to make a run for the White House? Could she lead the GOP in 2012?
Don't care for her run, but if good looking counts, I'll be darned if she loses !

She has no chance of ever being elected President. Her base is far too small and she does not have wide appeal. She's stuck in the past and doesn't have the intellectual capacity to move forward to any significant degree. We've elected stupid people to office before, but never anyone this stupid.
i really don't care. i mean if she wanted to run for prez she should have waited until the term was up and then announced. she'd have had better luck then. now, i don't think she has a chance. she should focus on her family now anyway.
She couldn't take the responsibility for the job and quit.
At least now we know what she's really like, a quitter.
Maybe to run for Prez, but she may be sick and tired of the media hits, especially on her children. She and her family get extra cruel media treatment.
Someday we all will be watching "Jeopardy and we will all struggle to remember her name. How many of us remember Eagleton, Muskie, Miller, Lodge, and Sparkman? Oh well. Fame is fleeting.
I think she's resigning to go on a speaking tour, partly in campaigning for other conservative political candidates, to write a book, and to capitalize on her notoriety to make a huge fortune. Then if the political winds favor her at some future time, she will again run for political office. While be pestered to no end on a measley governor's salary, when you can get rich by expressing your views to friendly fan clubs?
I'm not a huge Palin fan, but at least she didn't do what the NC Breck Girl did -- take the job to represent NC as a senator and then spend all of that time campaigning for president instead.
I ams sure thar you want to include Senator McCain and George W. Bush for running for higher office while holding an elected office. Oh, I guess that it is not ok for John Edwards to be a candidate for VP and it is ok for Palin to be governor and run as a candidate for VP. Nice hypocrisy!

She wants to run for president. Obvious. She's done this before when she was mayor. She'll be in the White House.
