Meredith College to Hold First Women’s Leadership Summit

The Meredith College Institute for Women’s Leadership will present the 2009 Women’s Leadership Summit on Friday, September 25, 2009. Appropriately titled “Catalysts for Change”, the daylong seminar will help women unlock new ways to contribute to and lead their organizations and communities. The summit will bring together women from nonprofit, corporate, government and academic sectors for rich dialogues and in-depth workshop sessions.  Scheduled keynote speakers include:·         Marie C. Wilson, founder and president, The White House Project;·         Trenesa Stanford-Danuser, vice president for global communications, Origins Natural Resources;·         Deborah Kolb, professor for women and leadership, Simmons School of Management; and·         Sarah King, Center for Creative Leadership. The Women’s Leadership Summit is presented by the Institute for Women’s Leadership, a consortium of centers for research, teaching and learning at Meredith College. The Institute fosters a culture of leadership by providing diverse opportunities for women of all ages to develop as ethical and responsible leaders.  AT&T is the presenting sponsor of the Women’s Leadership Summit. Premier sponsor is “The Triangle Business Journal” and partnering sponsor is UPS. Supporting sponsors are Diversity Woman, “Pink” Magazine, and “Women’s Edge”.Registration fee, which includes all summit session materials and meals, is $100. Meredith Alumnae: $75.
