Yes she should resign!!!!!!!! An 88% increase in pay, normal state employees sometimes get no increase in pay when they are promoted or have to fight with OSP to get a poultry 5% per grade and most often that is not given. Along with this obscene amount, state employees are long suffering for pay raises of any kind. Disgrace to Mary and Mike Easley!!!!!!!

State employees are asked to give up a portion of their measley 30 or 40,000 salary due to budget crisis and here is someone making 170,000 doing what? She needs to resign or the job needs to be cut out and she can be in the unemployment line like so many of us normal tax paying citizens!!! It makes me upset everytime I think about my paycheck will be short about $300 for the next 2 months and wondering which bill I can go without paying and then try to play catchup in the next 2 months when she's been given a pay raise of almost 100,000...that's ludicrous!!!

She is so smug and arrogant, just as her husband has been for the last eight years. She knows she's not wanted at NC State so why stay around except for the money. Maybe all those nice people who flew her husband around can take up a collection and pay her off. Please...

First off I don't think the other two officials should have resigned either; eithics are critical but not to the point of witch-hunting. Easley could still do a lot for the university: just cut her pay in half or so and let's get on with life.

GIVE "QUEEN MARY" A SMALL TASTE OF THE TREATMENT HER HUSBAND AND HIS ADMINISTRATION AND HIS *&^%$#@ CRONIES DISHED OUT TO THEIR NORTH CAROLINA SUBJECTS!

CHANGE THE LOCKS ON HER OFFICE. LET THE NC HIGHWAY PATROL ESCORT HER OFF THE CAMPUS. NO LIMO.

Don't stop with her. The Chancellor Oblinger needs to go for allowing this to happen on his watch. And Bowles needs to resign for approving the hire and salary.

As a person who "takes my vote very seriously"; I always try to "vote" for the best candidate--thus, I have not voted for Easley (or for that matter--Jim Hunt). But, given the choices from the Republican side--I did NOT vote for that group of political hypocrites either. Thus, it does not surprise me that Mary is as arrogant and deceitful as Mike Easley is (can you say, "All In The Family"). Given their willingness to USE the people of North Carolina (and our money) for their own political purposes; the Easleys, Hunts, Blacks, Wrights and other Democrats are as selfish and crooked as the Bushs and Cheneys are on the national level. YES, she should never have been hired in the first place.
