2) NEW: Robotics and Electronics 6/8/2009-6/11/2009 OR 7/13/2009-7/16/2009; Rising 9th and 10th graders build electronic projects...

3) Simulation and Gaming 6/15/2009-6/18/2009; Rising 9th and 10th graders learn to design and create digital games...

4) NEW: Gaming Engines 6/22/2009-6/25/2009; Rising 9th and 10th graders use the UNREAL* engine to make their level 3 game...

DETAILED INFORMATION:
1) Engineering Technology 7/6/2009-7/9/2009 or 7/20/2009-7/23/2009 Rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders will work with Architecture, Civil, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering faculty in the design and construction of selected projects, such as popsicle bridges, catapults, cross bows and solar cars, using the Architecture design studio, building timing circuits and working with educational robots. Space limited to 14 seats.

2) NEW: Robotics and Electronics 6/8/2009-6/11/2009 OR 7/13/2009-7/16/2009 Rising 9th and 10th graders will build and program Lego systems for various in-camp competitions, as well as build various electronic projects (such as an tunable electronic organ) using oscilloscopes and interface microcontrollers for selected projects. The student will be able to take one project home. No previous experience necessary. Space limited to 14 seats

3) Simulation and Gaming 6/15/2009-6/18/2009; Rising 9th and 10th graders will learn to design and create digital games using GameMaker software. This is an exciting camp for rising 9th and 10th graders, where students will design and create digital games! Using drag-and-drop software, students will create games with professional quality animation, backgrounds, music, graphics, and sound effects! Students will download Gamemaker lite for creating a game. No previous experience necessary. Space limited to 20 seats

4) NEW: Gaming Engines 6/22/2009-6/25/2009; Rising 9th and 10th graders will use the UNREAL* engine to make their level 3 game. UNREAL* Engine provides the platform and tools needed to develop cutting-edge 3D projects. Space limited to 20 seats.

• Hours for all ATEC Camps: Monday-Wednesday: 8am-5pm, Thursday: 8am-6pm**

• Parents are invited on Thursday from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. to attend ATEC’s capstone event

• Lunch is not provided; Subway is available on campus, estimated cost $6, or bring bag lunch

**Please Note: No care or supervision is provided before or after the camp hours.

Location: Wake Technical Community College, 9101 Fayetteville Road Raleigh, NC 27603. Tuition for all ATEC Camps: $270 (U.S.) per camp per week
