Triangle Blazers, new model for youth hoops programs!

| | | | | | |

Do you believe that youth sports can or should foster the development of leadership and character? Do you believe that the above traits can co-exist with a program that is absolutely committed to maximizing the potential skill development of each individual player and each collective team? And when I mention leadership and character do you think of a broad based definition of leadership that embodies the true responsibilities of individual, team and community leadership....or simply the "I'm better than you, so follow me"?

I recently co-founded Playin' it Forward Sports as a non-profit youth sports organization....or umbrella.... that serves to support and facilitate programs and players that are looking to take their games and their leadership to a new level. To model the belief that true leadership and high levels of skill development are not a choice between being selflessly riteous vs selfishly egotistic. To achieve success on the court/field while at the same time defining success outside of athletics. To embody a youth sports program that says "we can do better" than what is currently advertised in our culture as the best way for young athletes to develop to their fullest potential.

The Triangle Blazers Youth Basketball Club is one of the programs now operating as a Playin' it Forward Sports program....and, as a new program, we are looking to recruit players/parents that share in our passion and commitment to develop great players and great leaders. We will be having tryouts(9U-15U) in early Feb. for our Spring Season(Feb-June) and would like to invite players and even whole rosters/teams to join our program. We will be glad to schedule meetings to discuss program components, our individual skill development program, our curriculum, mentoring program, outreach events...etc. Additionally, we will be holding workout or training sessions from now thru December and we would invite anyone interested in our program to visit to either watch or participate.

Our staff includes educators, coaches and former college players....are absolutely committed to fielding the best teams and players in the triangle area who respectfully conduct themselves both on and off the court as current and future leaders. Please contact me via gmiller54@nc.rr.com with any questions or inquiries. I assure you this is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a new youth sports model(last year we raised and donated over $2500 for local and national charity organizations). We are setting the bar high...plan to take this model regionally and possibly nationally....and strongly believe we can find the players and parents with that kind of reach. Take Care.....Coachmiller
