Here is your contest photo. Please reply below with your guess of where this dealer is located. To win, you must give the correct name of the dealer or the city, state, country. Prize is probably an adult beverage but may vary. Offer void where prohibited by law. Taxes, tips, etc. are the sole responsibility of the winner. We are not liable for seen or unforseen events that may occur after claiming prize. All terms subject to change without notice. Your mileage may vary. Good Luck!
Anyone can play but only HOG members eligible for prize. No purchase necessary.
If you have photos like this, save them for the next contest!!! Thanks.
...and even searched through images at each dealership's website(s) starting from Boone, NC and expanding outwards at various radii until nearly covering a greater portion of the southeast and never found a match - not even close!
...and under very close inspection of the photograph above as well, [I] found the place - the whole area surrounding it too - to be immaculately clean and free of any signs of former useage. Therefore this area must indeed be very new and making a debut.
Excellent Photo - Photo Contest !!
Ditto Java. I also searched every dealership in NC and some in VA. I agree with your speculation that this is a new dealership. The photographer is very clever!
It sort of looks like the Swananoa HD.
Could it be Shelton's new dealership in Henderson, NC?
You have had a week to work on this so I will tell you the country. It is in the US! I am making Java eligible for the prize, we can meet at Cup of Joe or the Nickle, or somewhere in that neck of the woods, your choice. Java has seen one hint and Wanda and Dave have seen a different hint and this information should therefore be a hint too!
An old Zen Master once told me, let your fingers do the walking! The brute force method will work but is very inefficient. A confirming picture can be found in an collection "out there" but is from a very different angle. Oh yea, and my cell phone does not put a visible date on the photo!!!
First off, thanks for the invite and eligibility - good choice of meeting areas and all within walking distance from eachother too! Decisions, decisions...
Anyway back to the details, I noticed your reflection in one of the main entrance windows - you were definitely holding a camera and not a cell phone camera! Also just to the right in the reflections of another window I saw this nice landscape of either foothills or mountains with just a trace hint that autumn would soon be on its way and also judging from the relative abundance of tree species in these reflections I am leaning more towards the eastern side of the Appalachians and in North Carolina too. Hope I'm still in the ballpark :)
Ah, Grasshopper! Your hint was very Crazy Ivanesque, but due to my OCD, I will continue on my quest to find the dealer.
I have about exhausted my resources looking for this on-line but I did discover one suspect place while searching on Google Earth's outdated images which showed woods where there was supposed to be a dealership! ...either that or a digital thumbtack was not in its proper location. Hmmm...(?)
Well, after double-checking the suspect site using a GIS map with all its various overlays I found the site was not the one I was looking for, or I don't think it is (Gene Lummus Ghost Town Harley-Davidson) but the digital thumbtack I found on the other mapping site which uses Google Earth images was misplaced by about a quarter mile... plus when I went back to look again a couple days later the digital thumbtack had since been moved to within a hundred feet of the suspect dealer and therefore was in general agreement with the GIS map this time too. Go figure.
So in a nutshell I think I'm still at zip! (but the topographic overlay on the GIS map looks very similar to what I see in the picture above).
...Things that make you go Hmmm...
Dealer Photo Contest
Do we have a winner yet? Can you give clues? Is it bigger than a breadbox? Is it in NC?
