Chapel Hill town staff are presenting three options for curtailing Franklin Street's Halloween madness, including abruptly ending it. Should anything be done about the celebration or is it fine as is? Do you think people are in danger because so many people visit Franklin Street for this event?

Halloween
I definitely think the event should be curtailed. I live in downtown Chapel Hill and have noticed a steady increase in the noise level to the point where it was so loud last year, I'm considering finding somewhere else to stay. Halloween is something I now dread and want to avoid, whereas I used to look forward to it and enjoyed it when it was smaller. The fact that there is now violence, in addition to the huge cost to the town, should be the last straw. This money could be much better spent elsewhere.
