I admit I do not like all their positions, but for the following reasons I can't believe anyone would want to vote Republican, a party so far removed from its history, that it should change its name to something else:
1. Current Administrations lies and manipulations to push for the invasion of Iraq which wasn't a threat, and McCain's support of continuing this war.
2. Cronyism is rampant within current Administration, putting people in positions they have no experience for. A good house cleaning is in order.
3. The secrecy of the current Administration and how it is going counter to our form of open government. The current administration has classified more documents than any other presidency. What are they hiding???
4. Constitutional violations by the current Administration.
5. Although there are plenty of Democrats who are tainted by close ties to the oil companies, the current Republicans in office are running the country as if it is here for the oil companies and not the people. Issues involving environment are ignored, such as the last EPA report the Bush Adm refuses to even open.
6. Bush is a liar and a do nothing when it comes to his pursuit of terrorist; he completely turned attention away form Afghanistan and focused almost entirely on Iraq which wasn't involved. But Bush has made sure Iraq is now a terrorist state to be dealt with in the future.
Look at his record for the first 8 months of office prior to 9-11. They cut spending dealing with terrorism, they ignored Clinton's staff on Al Qaeda being our number 1 priority and didn't even meet with the CIA until a couple weeks prior to 9-11 and even regulated the contact to a deputy, not even bothering to put it within the main staff's core responsiblity.
7. Although the Republicans like to paint themselves as the only party that can protect the country and promoting a solid defense, their actions in Iraq and here speak differently. They went in Iraq with no plan, created a huge mess that is now breeding terrorist and contempt for the USA. They compromised a CIA's agent identity and who knows what else that was tied to her just because her husband pointed out Bush's Administration lies on a Iraq trying to buy nuclear weapon's grade material in Africa, and knew it was false when they kept telling it to the public to add to the scare tactics to get the country to agree to an invasion.
And anyone questions the above there are examples of each one I can post; may take be a while to get it in a format to do so, but definitely can do so.
