POSTPONED UNTIL SEPT. 13: Big yard sale will benefit abused animals and at-risk children

POSTPONED FROM SEPT. 6 UNTIL SEPT. 13 BECAUSE OF TROPICAL STORM HANNAH! Clothing, furniture, clocks, household items, collectibles and much more will be available at a big yard sale 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Singing Grove in downtown Benson. Pony rides will be offered if weather permits. Proceeds will be donated to a small, all-volunteer, donation-supported 501(C)3 nonprofit organization, AARF (Adolescent & Animal Resource Fund) which rehabilitates orphaned, injured or abused animals for adoption and provides assistance for at-risk children. Donations of gently used items may be dropped off 7-8 a.m. the day of the sale. Dry dog and cat food and clay cat litter and supplies for children also are appreciated. Gas cards, too!!! Donations are tax-deductible (please include an itemized list, plus a mailing address and phone number). If you have numerous items, you may request pickup or arrange alternate drop-off at another site. Leave a message at (919) 894-1111 (it can take a day or two for a large number of calls to be returned). For the health and safety of all, please do not take animals to the sale. The people running the sale will not be the volunteers who handle intake of animals. Thank you for your support!!!
