RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 19, 2008) – The Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS) today announced its 2008-09 board of directors and officers.
The new board will be seated as of September 1 and is comprised of:
• Joe Mecca (Coastal Federal Credit Union), president
• Katy Hipp (Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines), vice president
• Stephanie Llorente (Butterball Turkey), treasurer
• Andrea Pacheco (Campbell Univ. School of Pharmacy), secretary/historian
• Frank Williams (Pioneer Strategies), immediate past president
• Kelly Hubbard (Largemouth Communications), hospitality chair
• Kerry Grace Heckle (Rex Hospital), banquet chair
• Megan Henderson (Looking Glass Communications), membership chair
• Claire Howell (Howard, Merrell & Partners), newsletter/public relations chair
• Christa Leupen (S&A Cherokee), awards chair
• Anna Brinkley (Rick Rountree Communications), web chair
• Tracy Phelan (The Catevo Group), member-at-large
“RPRS has enjoyed steady growth and provided quality programming over the past several years, thanks to the commitment and talent of the organization's leadership team. We look forward to building on our recent success and to continuing to offer new professional development opportunities for all of our members,” said Joe Mecca, incoming RPRS president.
The board oversees initiatives such as monthly lunch meetings and the annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Excellence in Communication, fulfilling the organization’s mission to advance the art and the science of public relations.
