THIS VISITOR HAD TO CLIMB UP A DOWNSPOUT, CRAWL ACROSS A GUTTER AND SLITHER DOWN A 2 FOOT BY 1/4 INCH HOOK TO REACH OUR HUMMIE FEEDER. WHEN PHOTOGRAPHED HE WAS CONTEMPLATING HIS NEXT MOVE, SINCE BACKING UP WAS NOT AN OPTION. WITH A LITTLE HELP HE FELL TO THE GROUND AND MADE A HASTY DEPARTURE.

This picture gave me goose bumps!!! I assume the snake is a harmless black snake but even so it scares me just to look at it. Was it attracted by the hummingbird nectar?
