Off to pastures new!

Off to pastures new!

These cows roam free and have access to the beach, grassy verges, fields etc. They are oblivious to cars and other motor vehicles.

(this was the view from my B and B bedroom window!)

Cows

I could understand it if all of them were heifers, steers or bulls, but there is one in this group that will soon need to be milked!

There's a funny story behind this parade of cows! The herd were grzing on the beach (off left of photo) when one decided the grass was greener on the verge.Slowly but surely the herd (mothers and daughters) made their way up from the beach, along the road, surrounding our little hire car at one point!) and then on up the lane.Suddenly one cow noticed six other cows in the field next to our B and B and those six noticed the herd! They galloped across the field to the gate and started mooing noisily!! The herd on the road gathered around the gate, blocking the road and causing a hold up (well, the one car had to wait!!).Then the herd decided to turn around and head back for the beach. The six in the field moved along the wall inside their field and then suddenly one of them leapt over the wall, into the road and joined the herd.

The one that looks like she needs milking is one of the mums-all the mums were still feeding their calves.
