Was the movie as good as advertised? How was Heath Ledger's performance?

Dark Knight

I would give the movie a seven for special effects, the joker and chase scenes. The move rambled and I believe that it could have been 1/2 to forty-five minutes less. Too long!!! Trailers lasted almost 30 minutes!!!! Ugh!!!

Dark is an understatement

I'm not sure what to call "good" in light of this movie. Dark is an understatement. Even overwhelming is an understatement. Ledger's joker is at least 10 times darker from Nicholson as Nicholson was from TV's Caesar Romero. Ledger's Joker is even beyond the "pre-code" comic book joker. Multitudes of people die here, up close and from a distance.I'm still dazed now the morning after viewing the movie yesterday afternoon. I will end by quoting Kevin Conroy, who has for years done the animated voice of Batman in several series. The Batman story is "infinitely interpretable" in Conroy's words. BTW, that comes form the commentary on the Gotham Knight DVD, which is excellent. BTW, I abstained from voting in the Joker poll because the Animated Series version voiced by Mark Hamil was not also a choice.

dark knight

well after reading the prior notes i have to disagree... it was awesome.... the graphics were phenomenal, ledger and nicholson did an entirely different interpretation of the joker... both which were plausible , but i liked this one better.... this is a must see movie.... although i would bring children under the age of 15 to the movies to see it.
