This little Arachnid was on my Prickly Pear flower. He is way more colorful than most of the Jumpers I see around here. See how he was peeking up at me from behind the flower petal in this photo?

In my experience, they usually have two large and two small frontal eyes, and two small eyes on the top rear of their head. They quite literally have eyes in the back of their head. Some species of Jumping Spiders may have eight eyes, but the most I've seen is six on the types around. If you ever do want to do some research, here's a great website. Also, if you have an unidentified Spider, you can e-mail the pictures to the site administrator, and she'll help you with ID, as well as post them on the site if you want. http://www.spiderzrule.com.

These lttle jumping spiders are so amazing! I have photographed some tiny ones; haven't done any research but it seems they all have 4 large eyes. Good shot!
