A Remarkable Gardener

A Remarkable Gardener
At 94 yrs. old my mother still maintains a vegetable garden every year almost on her own.  Okra, green beans, butterbeans, tomatoes, peppers (hot & sweet) and squash.  We have managed to convince her to scale it down a bit but she can't do without the corn- the sweetest corn in Chatham County, the sweetest mother in Chatham County.  It just doesn't get any better than that:)  Hope she gets some rain and we might have corn on-the-cob on July 4th!

A Remarkable Gardener

Looks like a healthy hobby as well as good excercise - keeps one fit and is excellent for longevity, besides all the benefits rewarded by the garden too! Great photo!

Thanks!

Thanks!  My mother is in excellent health and is very active in her community and  church.  She sang a solo at the recent church homecomming at Buckhorn United Methodist Church in Chatham Co.  I admire her more than words can say.

It's wonderful to see

It's wonderful to see someone active in their garden and in their community, especially at 94. I hope the rain we got last night helps her corn! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Garden, Beautiful Mother

Your mother has a beautiful garden and is an inspiration for us all to stay healthy, happy and active....oh yeah and to eat our veggies  :-)
