Does getting arrested hurt Ty Lawsons chances for making the NBA?
The question is, what was he driving? That'll tell you if he has hired an agent or not.
Go Back To Scool Ty, Please!!!!!
Let's not forget JJ Reddick's driving issues prior to his entering the NBA! Let's be thankful that no one was hurt. Let's remember these are "kids" helping these schools make "BIG" MONEY more than the average graduate student egghead!!!
Ty's Lawson's an idiot.
Not so fast - he blew BELOW the legal limit (less than .08). He was arrested for a violation he probably wasn't aware of - driving after consuming ANY amount of alcohol while beneath the age of 21. I can't say how this relatively minimal amount of alcohol affected his driving or his judgment. Generally, though, I wish more adults behaved as Ty may have done - if they drink, to do so responsibly.
Let's remember...the NBA is a professional sports league which allows three positive tests for marijuana before imposing sanctions on a player. The league is notorious for such silliness as trying to impose a "dress code" while continually turning a blind eye to its players' off-court behavior. Unless his agent is a moron, this incident will have absolutely no impact on his NBA prospects. Anyone remember Latrell Sprewell? If choking your coach doesn't even get you a slap on the wrist, what possible effect could a DWI have on a kid who is not even in the league yet?
Will this hurt his chances? Be real, this is the NBA, National Bum Association, he'll fit right in and be welcomed with open arms. He'll then be instructed how to cover his body with ugly tatoos, show his rear to his coach and how to jump in the stands to fight fans who.."dis him"..
Ty made a mistake as most poeple do from time to time. I think he is a person that will do what is right most of the time. He is in college, how many kids in college drink under the age of 21? I think most of them, it is part of the college experince. How about all those college spring break parties, kids under 21 are drinking and doing unspeakable wild acts and will be future CEO's, doctors and law makers. you people need to look in mirrow before calling someone a bum. Ty Lawson is not a bum, he's a kid that has a bright future a head of him.
I don't think that this issue should have any effect on his draft status. So many players abuse drugs abuse women and generally abused themselves that this incident we won't stand out at all.
He should probably hire that
He should probably hire that agent, he is better suited for the NBA than college basketball..
