I think they both should be fired on the spot! I am tired of politicians and high positioned state employees who use their jobs for personal gain, whether it be for money or glory. North Carolina has had so much of this happening in the last few years..... Black, Wright, Ballance, Wake Co. school embezzlement, just to name a few.
Anyone paid over $119,00 a yr. should have been able to pay $250 for her own potrait!

hang portrait in canteen!

The article says they are trying to find just the right place to hang the portrait in the new hospital. I've got a suggestion--how about the canteen, since it was paid for from vending machine proceeds intended for the patients!

The painting of Director Patsy Christian should not be paid out of hospital vending machine money. The director makes enough money to pay for it herself. If she does not reimburse the hospital for the portrait then she should be fired. When does the bleeding stop? She is an educated woman that made a stupid decision. She knew this would get out and the public would be outraged.

It is a Government run entity; I would expect waste, poor management, and poor service and the Blow has found it. This is only a small example of waste, poor management and arrogance on part of Patsy Christian. No big deal; it is the norm.
If the Blow would take the time they could go through any government run organization and find far more egregious examples of mismanagement. Does the name Meg Scott Phipps ring a bell?

(Her head looks too big for her body (looks like she got $250 worth, it's an ugly portrait or one awful looking subject). I needed a good laugh this morning!

What a dopey painting of a dopey person. I hope the artist stays in the mental health field because the painting is horrible - that's why I guess it only cost $250.00. Oh, and she should be fired for improper use of funds.

The Betty Boop portrait is worth every penny and more. State should put the painting at the entry to every mental hospital. Betty Boop has a calming presence which transcends all generations. Patsy is hot!
