I feel in reality that Lawson and Ellington have their minds made up,and I wish them the best.Hopefully along their journey of sitting and waiting their turn they will develop consistancy in their jumpshot. As for Green, sure he grew during the season and gave Tar Heel Nation some excellent moments off the bench. But he's about a year away from making his presence felt in the NBA.Yes,his family probably needs the money, but his stock will go up with a line-up next year of Frasor,Green and Ginyard in the frontcourt with Thompson and Tyler in the post. You still got 85 points there.Think about it Danny!
Dear Ty Lawson,
Two words: Ed Cota
Sincerely,
UNC Fan/Alum
I believe that Lawson has his mind made up - and his actions of the last weekend don't help his case for coming back. I agree with Tudor, that if he did come back he would face a lengthy suspension from Williams (as he should). His actions and talk look to him staying in the draft regardless.
Ellignton needs another year - to gain strength - and to see what it is like to be more of a scorer (yes - he needs to score more). He needs another year.
Green as well needs another year - probably more than that - but apparently he can't speak anymore - as only his dad seems to be able to communicate. I do believe that Green has his heart set on going to the NBA - but it will not be next year - as even if he were drafted, i believe that he would end up in the NBDL or even worse, Europe.
So in the end - who should come back. Well - in reality - since UNC does not have an incoming point guard who can step in and run the show and we won't know about Frasor until the start of the season, Lawson should come back, and 1 of the two between Ellignton and Green.
If all 3 do come back, then the team is loaded. And with the latest signee for the 2009-2010 incoming class, there isn't any reason for them to stay after this year.
Give it one more year guys.
What an opportunity for those three! They should all come back and play for an amazing team! GO ROY!!
tarhhel return
all should come back and enjoy the experience
