High cost inmates could be released

Some the most expensive state prison inmates -- those who are so infirm they are no longer a threat to society -- could come up for a vote in the state House next week. Prison officials estimate about 160 inmates would be eligible for release if the legislation becomes law.

What are your thoughts on this?

No way!

No! They should have to server their sentence even if that becomes a life sentence because of an illness.

I think its a good idea.

I think its a good idea. Most of them have already served a majority of their sentence, and with NC prisons being as over-crowded as they are I think that space would be better served with a violent criminal sitting in there than some little old man, for a non-violent crime her committed 10 years ago!!
