Animal ID 2534.
Wake Animal Center is jam packed! That means Sammy is a high risk for being killed and dumped, bagged and thrown in the dumpster.
Sammy, the black lab mix has been sitting inside his cage since April 11th. Today is May 16th. Doing some quick math, that means Sammy has lived 34 days in a prison stall. Sammy is still trying to smile. He is neutered and ready to go home tomorrow. Sammy tries to hold his bathroom needs day and night. He gets only 5 minutes or so, in the courtyard each day. Imagine how it must be for an animal who knows he is supposed to make outside, yet must sit 24 hours a day in a cage?
This fine fellow is Heartworm Positive. No one cared about Sammy enough to give him preventive heartworm meds. A generous sponsor has come forward to pay in full for Sammy's curable Heartworm condition.
Contact: Julie Powers, jpowersral@yahoo.com to learn more about the paid in full Heartworm sponsorship!
Sammy also has $80 off the standard adoption fee of $120! Volunteers love Sammy. They have really pulled together to stop the killing of this fine dog.
Volunteers doubt the shelter will keep him alive past this weekend. That means, Monday, when you are back at work, Sammy will be taking his last walk to the Death Chamber of Wake County.
The Wake Animal Center does not wait. When they are ready to shoot the pink poison in a dog, they do it!
Please pass this news around to your friends and family.
Wake Animal Center is open tomorrow from 11-4PM. Sunday hours: 1-4PM
Read this quote today from a volunteer:
"I am very worried about ALL the dogs at Wake right now, there are SO many…not a single cage open! There are also over 10 pits that probably don’t stand a chance. There are so many that I can hardly keep up or notice when their pics are taken down but I’ll try my best. The black labs that have been there awhile are certainly in danger! (Birdie, Jake, Sammy)"
Sammy comes with vaccines,rabies,and microchip.
Please folks, help the shelter dogs. Please save a life! Everyone wants their life, no matter how small.
