Women are notorious for taking great care of everyone else but themselves. Regardless of our socioeconomic status, mammy styled selflessness is our #1 psychological cancer. Dear Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards is too educated (a law degree) AND too wealthy to have NOT gotten a mammogram in four years. I believe one billion % that Mr. John Edwards would NEVER go past a year without getting his prostate checked. Can I get an amen for having the courage to publicly say what many of us feel? I am extremely concerned about the fact that many more women of color die from breast cancer; but, they are diagnosised  with this dreaded disease less often than white women. Trust me as if it is a direct message from God. More if not all African-American and Caucasin women would get a yearly mammography if they had health insurance and/or better coverage.Yes, we Ameri-CAN do much better with cancer healthcare.
