The notion that there's a better candidate out there is laughable. The run he led the team on over the last 6-8 weeks of the season with all of the injuries would have had him in contention for the Jack Adams with one more W.

Hmm...

I hear Paul Maurice is free. BWAHAHAHAHA

Keep Laviolette. He's been one of the best things to happen to the 'Canes.

I will after 10 years turn

I will after 10 years turn my season tickets in if they fire him. The mess he had to deal with from January on could not have been done any better by another coach out there. Only mistake I see was he should have left the kids in there tha last 2/3 weeks and brought the vets back a little at a time. Class act! No excuse next year though.

No way fire him....he truly

No way fire him....he truly is the best thing to happen to the Hurricanes......

What a stupid question!

Laviolette is da man, and he should be treated as such. He's a great coach, but the team just had a bad ending to a good season. No way you punish him for that.

PE-TER, PE-TER, PE-TER,

PE-TER, PE-TER, PE-TER, PE-TER, PE-TER, PE-TER!!! KEEP HIM!!

Lavie has to be one of the

Lavie has to be one of the top 5 coaches in ALL of hockey. Surely Karmanos is not seriously considering not bringing Peter back. But, on the other hand, i hear Glen Hanlon is looking for work, ha ha ha

Peter Laviolette

Fire Peter? NO WAY. That would be a huge mistake.

NO WAY. Why fire a coach

NO WAY. Why fire a coach that took once a struggling team and turn them into Stanley Cup Champions? Yeah not making the playoffs for the past 2 is painfull but there have been countless injuries and such but Peter Laviolette is great for the canes.
