Jack Holland shows his worm bin to a class at the Garden Hut

Jack Holland shared tips on creating your own worm bin during Carol Stein's Gardeners Forum in April. Called "Vermicomposting", worm farming is one way to turn kitchen scraps into "black gold" to use as an amendment for plants. Worm bins take up little space, reduce household waste, provide worms for fishing, and are fun to maintain. Stop by the Garden Hut for answers to your gardening questions this Saturday, May 10 at 11am as Carol Stein's Gardeners Forum discusses Organic Gardening. Free. The Garden Hut, 1004 Old Honeycutt Road, Fuquay-Varina. (919) 552-0590, www.NelsasGardenHut.com
