Free Workshop - Caring for Someone with Memory Impairment

The Center for Volunteer Caregiving (www.volunteercaregiving.org) is offering free workshop to equip families and respite volunteers with pointers on providing quality interaction and effective communication with a person who is memory-impaired.
Potential RESPITE VOLUNTEERS are invited to attend to learn how to be a companion to someone with dementia due to stroke, Alzheimers, or other disease.  Volunteers needed in ALL parts of Wake County.


FAMILY CAREGIVERS are invited to learn to anticipate and offer improved communication skills with a loved one who is experiencing memory loss.


DATE: May 13, 2008
TIME:  8:30-9:00am Registration and coffee
          9:00am - Noon  Workshop (nonmedical, nonhealthcare information)
          12:15 - 1:30pm  Orientation Session
Workshop and Orientation may be attended separately)
LOCATION:  Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 Walnut St, Cary.  Look for red door to "Luther's Cafe"

Our capacity to serve is limited only by the number of volunteers available.
