JIMMY BUFFET ON-SALE

As any Parrot Head that's not in detox would know, JIMMY BUFFETT went
on-sale today at 10:00am for a Saturday, June 7th Event at THE CREEK.

I hit the venue box office and joined about ~60 others to take my chance
hoping to draw a good ticket line lottery number but just like my luck
in the North Carolina Education Lottery, "Luck" and "Suck" are just one
single letter away and I'm stuck on "S".

FRONT ROW, DEAD CENTER!
No Wait. Those are my 2002 Jimmy Buffett at The Creek ticket stubs.
Ah those were the days: $64.00 bucks for Front Row, and you could
actually get them. Close enough to even score a pic.

2002: $64.00, 2008: $141.00 each. Inflation has taken a rocket ride when
you consider ticket pricing and unlike gas they don't have to ship these
in by the barrel from the Middle East. There weren't many price point
options to choose from, any seat under your delicate bottom whether it be
front row or back row in the back section: $141.00; any Dirt, (grass),
seat: $41.00.

There were 8 ticket windows open today and I was about 8 deep at a window
and there were still seats to be had but they were way back in the upper
level and as much as I like to fill Buffett's plane with fuel for him I
wasn't going to play that game, so I'm in the dirt.  Everyone says "that's
where the real party is" but untrue, the party is in the parking lot
pre-show, and you can crash that for FREE.

Talked to one Parrot Head that was first in line at a ticket window and the
best he scored was Sect: 7, Row: L, which is 12th row upper-level. Ok, so
where do all the lower-level tickets go? Odds are whoever and where ever
they're scalped at they'll bring more than the price printed on the ticket.
(There is Official Scalping and Un-Official Scalping).

The Event Sold-Out quick; One hour later I was on-line and all were gone:
None Available. I did go back to ticketmaster.com 3 hours later and there
were some back section $141's back up for grabs, someone's credit card must
have bounced.

Never fear, there's always the alternate routes, Stubhub.com, owned by
EBay which one hour after the on-sale had $41 lawns for $75.00. People
already posting all over Craigslist.com with the same type tickets for the
same double price. Posters stick up "Scalping is illegal" and they get
flagged down by those that want to inflate. There are a large number of
people trying to trade their way-in-the-back $141 seats for lawn and
wanting the money difference to boot, the reality of overpaying must have
kicked in.

I'm buying a lot more tickets at the moment than I'm attending shows which
is painful now but when the using-the-tickets run starts the Event will feel
almost free since the money will be long-gone. Maybe by then I'll have
enough for a tour shirt.

See you in the dirt.
