Has Raleigh done enough to save the water supply?


Have Raleigh officials moved aggressively enough to push conservation and protect the city's water supply in the face of the ongoing drought?

Droughts and population increases

Since the drought of 2002 and then in 2005 you would think that city officials would have known that with increased populations using this same reservoir of water, consumption rates would have increased as the population grew. They should have anticipated this and introduced stronger conservation measures sooner so that the limited water supply could have been stretched farther but in waiting to do so, now the issue has become much more urgent. Lets hope the pipes don't run dry and begin to rust on the inside as this would compound things exponentially into the unthinkable.
