I just saw a new report from the Pope Center that says NC needs more lawyers and should ease restrictions that prevent licensed lawyers from practicing law in the state. (It also shows that there is only one low-cost school in the state—N.C. Central). I know a lot of people who went to law school and couldn't find enough business to make a living when they got out (they blame the crowded field), and they switched to other careers, so this surprises me...but then I'm not a lawyer. Is there really a lawyer shortage looming?
