Democratic U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge, who once spoke on the House floor against President Bush’s plan to increase the number of troops in Iraq, has changed his tune. He called reporters from Iraq Wednesday to say that it looks like the increase in troops is leading to progress. Etheridge said the situation looks far better than what he saw during his last trip to Iraq, in 2006. What do you think? Is Etherige right?

First question...
Is Bob Etheridge allowed to choose where he wants to visit during his stay in Iraq? Just knowing how he loves to attend historical events and visit historic places in North Carolina whenever the proper opportunity exists gives me a good clue as to the types of places which may especially be of interest to him beyond the purely political aspects of his visit to Iraq.
Personally I do not know if this makes any difference concerning the original question posed above but it does give a little more background as to his personal interests.
