On March 5, 2008 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm Adam Pertman, the Executive Director of the Evan B.Donaldson Adoption Institute will be the main speaker at the House Select Committee on Adoptee Birth Certificate.
Mr. Pertman will be here to present to our legislators how access to the original birth certificate by adult adoptees is working in eight other states currently. He will also talk about how the contact preference form which is being used in the majority of these states is also working.
Members of the NC Coalition for Adoption Reform will also give their recommendations to the legislators on what they would like to see accomplished in the upcoming short session as well as next year in the 2009 long session as a result of this committee.
If you have any interests in adoption or the access to the orignal birth certificates by adult adoptees, please come and show your support for this much needed change in North Carolina.
