Elijah 'Little Wolf' Jeffries Logan does a traditional dance with his father, Douglas 'Shadow Dancer' Logan at the annual Occaneechi Saponi Spring Pow-Wow at the tribal grounds located along Daily Store Road north of Mebane in Alamance County - from a collection of photos I took Saturday, June 9th, 2007

I know what you mean, if only the distances involved and the topography of this area would have allowed me this opportunity; therefore my productivity for winning shots had about as much chance as picking the winner numbers for the lotto off the back of a Chinese fortune found inside a most fortunate cookie.
Afterall, still I think there's some redeeming qualities.
Java55,
Of course your photo has redeeming qualities. Photos don't have to be perfect to be of value. Your photo reflects time and culture, and you chose to share it. There's great value in that—no matter what flaws I see. I'm glad you appreciate constructive criticism. I guess I need to post some images so you can give me some feedback.
I think this place could use something like this to bring it up beyond simply a repository for endless reams of random photos (including my own which are many) that eventually get buried in an ever-growing and intertwined series of huge and seemingly bottomless archives.
In other words please do post some images to share.

I forgot to add one point above. If you've become famiar with Elijah over the years as I have you will know that he is one of the most difficult kids to photograph especially when he knows there is a camera aimed at him. Just thought I'd clue you in if you didn't already know this.
Culture Passed On
I like the subject matter. I love to see photos of different cultures. I value the image because of that. Your photo would be much stronger with a longer focal length and lower perspective. Get down on ground level. Squat down on your knees. This will likely bring the faces and body language of the kids into prominence. Thanks for continuing to share your images Java55. I look forward to seeing more.
