I cant believe I see peanuts up as a possible comic to drop! peanuts is still one of the funniest comics ever even if these reruns are 50 years old. this comic still gets laughs and even the prestigious honor of being cut out and placed on my refrigerator on occasion. shame on you for even considering axing peanuts off the comics page!!
check your head, Curtis, Sylvia, bc, beetle bailey, marm, family circus... these are the worst comics ever. please, peanuts deserves to be a staple of every comic page in every news paper for ever!!!
"Peanuts" was the greatest strip of all time...
I mean that sincerely. But the key word is "was".
Imagine if people had had this attitude back in 1950. "Peanuts" would never have debuted, because newspapers would be too busy running reprints of "Krazy Kat" and "Keeping Up with the Joneses" to give such a weird new strip (and "Peanuts" was considered VERY weird when it debuted!) a chance. Think of what the world would have lost if people had that attitude back then. Think what it might be losing due to people having that attitude now.
If you want to read "Peanuts", then it's easy: they're releasing books which will include every single strip ever printed, so simply buy those and read them. As for the comic page, let's give today's crop of writers a chance.
