The Montana Repertory Theatre is one of the most respected professional touring companies in the country. In the past twenty years the Montana Repertory Theatre has featured Tennessee Williams twice, presenting The Glass Menagerie in 1994 and A Streetcar Named Desire in 2004. The Glass Menagerie reveals the young Williams as an emerging genius finding his wings and taking off. A Streetcar Named Desire finds the author at full throttle, investigating the dark and mysterious sides of the human heart; in this hauntingly beautiful play, we find Williams writing at the peak of his power. Cat is a play about vital and vibrant characters trapped in a repressive society that fosters a lack of communication, leading to unavoidable and unbearable loneliness.
