You're driving me nuts.

Love the series of photos. Is that an Aerobat? It's amazing what a little more engine will do. Fly circles around a 152. Had it awhile or just get it?

Bobby Carroll VP Dakno Marketing http://www.dakno.com/. This photo brought back many great memories when we would travel to "the Hook" from Bogue Inlet. Thanks!

both are tungsten

Yes, halogen lamps also burn tungsten filaments. They're a little hotter than regular incadescent (not by too much). Often the tungsten setting will give you good results (with minor adjustment of the color temp).

You definitley need to trademark the "rattle my tripod" phrase - I love it! :)

Thanks

These were halogen lamps similar to the types used to light the streets in Raleigh but built into custom lamp features so I'm not sure the tungsten white balance would have worked. It seems the biggest problem I had at the time was keeping my cheap light-weigh tripod steady long enough for the exposure! This was about the only shot out of about 20 that turned out looking halfway decent as most of the rest had people walking by too closely (in a blur) and also cauing the boardwalk to shake just enough to rattle my tripod. Hey, I think I just coined a new phrase here but I'm not letting it "rattle my tripod". :o)

Nice scene

This is a really nice scene!

You're right though, the lights are throwing off the white balance in this image. Check your camera to see if you have a white balance setting (often on the manual mode for point n shoots). These look like tungsten lights, so you should be able to use the "tungsten" white balance settings. Alternatively, depending on the photo editing software you use, you can adjust the whitle balance in post processing.

Kudos!

Hope to be seeing some of your photos soon!

The 4th of July parade in Beaufort is one of my faves. Lately the past couple of years or so I've missed seeing the shriners (I believe from New Bern) there as they've been one of my faves in the past but those Bodacious Belles of Beaufort Chapter of the Sweet Potato Queens, now they are a classic hit! Also I like the parade of tractors and classic cars at the end too.

The most difficult thing I find about photographing this parade is the fact that it's always so close to noon and getting photos that look good at this particular time of day can be quite challenging in terms of lighting conditions.

I attended the 4th of July

I attended the 4th of July parade in Beaufort this year. What a great celebration it is.

We are involved with the Johnston Co. Shrine club and they have elected me the official photograhper for the group. I take tons of shots of the "Animated Animals" and of all the shriners through the year.

I hope to be posting lots of shots of them in the future.

Me too!!

There used to be Piggly Wiggly stores in quite a few towns and cities throughout North Carolina. Raleigh even had Piggly Wiggly too, but alas... *sigh*

Hey, we could turn this into a thread dedicated to Piggly Wiggly Stores and use the photo for a cover page! Who knows, there's probably a lot more Piggly Wiggly fans out there just waiting for this opportunity to arrive! :o)

I'm SUPERBIG on the Pig!!

Hi,
I live in Lenoir, NC. There are NO Piggly Wiggly stores even near my hometown. I really wish there was a Piggly Wiggly in Lenoir, NC. There is a rumor that there will be a Major Grocery Store moving into an old Winn-Dixie building. I doubt it would be a Piggly-Wiggly, but if it was I would LOVE IT!!!
