Preservation too while at it

In addition to this cleanup effort, saving the various sports balls that are still in decent shape and cleaning them up for charity would be a good idea too. As for this area in general I would personally like to see this old steel bridge refurbished and put back into use again as a pedestrian bridge leading over the creek to perhaps a small park with picnic tables. I think that would be great if this could be done, plus the city would be preserving an historic structure from Wake County's past at the same time. Afterall this is perhaps the last steel bridge left in Wake County.

It's like housework. There's no end to it.

I have about decided that there will never be an end to littering. It's a worldwide problem.

To have a clean environment, we've got to give a hand and help clean up. I like the way Rick Catlin from Wilmington put it, in his letter to the N&O editor 3-24-08. "We can start by picking up litter when we see it. This will make a clean spot that may just catch on. If we connect enough clean spots, we may begin to change the world".

Maybe the inmates could keep the Interstates and 4 lane highways clean if that's all they had to do.

Forestville Road and Oak Hill Road

I just posted 4 pics on the litter page. They are of all the trash at the corner of Forestville Road and Oak Hill Road. Oak Hill is where the trailer park was that was condemned. I think the trash has been there since the summer. Who owns the land that the trash is on? The City of Raleigh posted a no littering sign at the end of the road. Maybe they could have picked up the trash while they were at it?

Posting litter photos

There is always a link on the front of the share channel (share.triangle.com) to the page to post litter photos. It is either in one of the places with a photo (as it has been for a week or so now) or in the place that says, "As mentioned in the N&O."

Litter is something we care about and want to help put a stop to. So a link to the litter photo page will always be on the "front door" of the share channel of triangle.com.

As for the photo size, they should be smaller than 4MB and it's best that they are in the jpeg or giff file format. This information is on the main photo-posting page and I will add it to the litter photo-posting page.

posting litter photos

That's an excellant photo and I want to thank you for posting it to the litter photos. I agree with you that the litter photos are not easy to find, therefore it could be the reason that site is not getting much response or views. It also took me a while to figure out how to post a photo there.

On Feb 7, thinking it might be a help, I posted a comment to my forum "Do you hate litter" explaining how to get to the litter photo site and the steps I took to posting a photo.

I finally posted this photo

I finally posted this photo to the share.triangle.com/litterphotos area. I kept getting an error message "Litter Photos Required". I sent a message to the contact person and got no response. I finally figured out that my Image was too big. It also took me awhile to find the litter area.

strays

That situation could be greatly improved if people would spend just a few dollars and have their pets spayed or neutered. It makes a better pet which also makes it worth the money.

Trash: Same With The Dog Situation

65 Tons of animals, mostly strays, (which come from "citizens") roam Wake County only to end up in the Wake County landfill as society's trash.

Looks like America is truly the world's throw away society. We throw everything away...even our elders.

That's a good picture that shows how ugly litter is. It wouldn't be that hard to clean up either if someone had the time to do it.
