RE: behind the scenes

Here's a list of a few upcoming events - (good road trips) - a few for starters (along with web addresses so you can check them out:

Hillsborough Hog Day - Hillsborough, NC (June 20-21)
www.hogdays.com/

29th annual Festival for the Eno - Durham, NC (July 4-5-6)
www.enoriver.org/Festival/

Southeastern Old Threshers Reunion - Denton, NC (July 1st - 5th)
www.threshers.com/farmpark/

These are a few of the better events that I know of that are close-by relatively speaking and can be quite photogenic too. Hope this helps!

By the way, thanks for the compliments on my Got to be NC Festival photos! I can't remember a single weekend in the past where I took so many photos in such a short time (4 cards worth!), if that says anything. Next year's festival has definitely been placed upon my 'to do' list!

behind the scenes

This made me smile-nice shot. Have you ever heard the expression "You can wait until the cows come home"? Well this photo remided me of it. It is something my mum said when I was a child .( I think it meant "well you can just keep waiting cos it aint gonna happen")!

I have very much enjoyed your series of photos from the Got to be NC Festival.

As you can tell,I have kind of dried up as far as photo subjects are concerned. I need to take a road trip or a vacation to somewhere photogenic.Any suggestions? lol

I know of a great ice cream shop (Maple View Farm Country Store) just down the road where you can sit in one of their many wooden rocking chairs lined up along their huge front porch which overlooks all this! Between the ice cream and the view, it is absolutely serene!

By the way, I have a photo of my boys inside trying to decide on which flavour of ice cream they wanted - not an award winning shot but at least you'll be able to get an idea of what it looks like inside. I may have to post that photo tonight and wait for the mods to put it up.

This photo makes me feel quite homesick as it has such a look of rural England about it!!!

It's one of my faves! I was surprised by how many nice photos I made there in about 10 minutes time. And I think I have to thank that bravest heifer who was leading the rest straight towards me and my camera!

You couldn't have gotten a better arrangement of those cows if they'd been taking direction straight from you. Superb timing and eye. Wouldn't surprise me if the dairy operator would pay for a framed print. Good art for an ad, too.

Cows! Ya' gotta love 'em. They bring us so many good things ... like ice cream!

The perspective and framing of the subject is excellent. This really is one of your best photos!
