not a bad price for the shooting skills camp, those times during the week on the 2nd and 3 rd sessions are to early for high school basketball players, they will still be in practice, but i guess you dont really attract those "type" of players, only rich players with no real skills..lol lol

Thank-you Java,for this one shot it took me about 15 to 20 to be able to capture one that wasnt blurry,I love to anticipate when the ball will actually be released and I think alot of it is just what you said ,"Luck" LOL

You're getting quite good at anticipating the shutter delay on your new digital camera! On my old camera it took me about a year to get used to how long it took between the time I pushed the shutter button and the time the image was captured. Once I think I was acceptionally on time (or maybe just really lucky?) and managed to capture the flash of black powder going off as an old flintlock was being fired at one of the annual 'Living History Day' events at Hillsborough.

The N&O should seriously consider running a feature page on The Carolina Cruisers Skaters Association of Raleigh. Such great organizations as these need more public exposure so as to show there are truly good things going on in this world and locally too! Maybe printed (with photos too) in something in the Life Section of the N&O. Its feature pages like these which could possibly boost readership as well as revenues too for the N&O as well as being mutually beneficial for the organizations, etc that the N&O runs as feature pages as well - these kinds of things would be a win-win situation if you ask me!

In addition, if the N&O could have it printed all on the same page (and not split up) it would be a perfect clip & save article as I suspect a lot of folks may want to clip and save this for their scapbooks too! By the way, I love it when the N&O prints a good article filling a single page perfect for clipping and saving as I have accumlated quite a collection of my faves over the years! :-)

Just wanted to give a shout out and a cheer for y'all!

I don't know if any of you remember me or not - its been a while since I skated regularly with my prime time during the days of Sportsworld, Skate Ranch (north and south), Skate Town all in Raleigh/Cary/Garner area, and then Roller Drome in Durham just to name a few... but I believe the last of my regular skating was at Skate Ranch maybe until about 2000 at which point I got back into photography and the outdoors again after a long intermission. Anyway I was the guy who had those weird custom skates with the dance plugs and a heel-stop (as opposed to a toe-stop) who liked to do the 'toe-jamming' in the middle of the rinks and also the one who enjoyed freaking people out with those splits while ducking under somebody else at the last second as they were coming from the opposite direction to straddle over me as I passed under - Ah, those fun days! Yep, and my nickname that everybody at the rinks used to know me by was 'Fish'.

I suspect my post may sink into the archives here but then again there is always that odd remote chance that somebody might say 'Hey!' :-)
